“Targa Racing, the ‘arrive and drive specialists’, celebrated with champagne after taking 2nd and 3rd place at January’s Targa Wrest Point. The event, held on the challenging roads to the South West of Hobart, benefited from clear and warm weather for both days.
After a hard fought battle the MX-5 of Adam Dodd/Lee Challoner Miles wrapped up second place on the podium. Amazingly after some 220 competitive kilometres the Hartley Sutcliff/Peta Davies MX-5 tied with the Hallet/Hatton HSV Clubsport to take 3rd place and the final step on the Podium.
This terrific result puts the Dodd/Challoner Miles car into a commanding 2nd position in the Australian Targa Championship with six of the TargaRacing crews in the top 10 of the Showroom class.
The team now prepares itself for the main event, Targa Tasmania held on the 17th-22nd of April.
Team manager Chris Gough said: “It’s been a great result for the whole team. To have not one, but two cars on the podium at such a competitive event is a credit to everyone at TargaRacing”.
Adam Spence, marketing director added: “the result this weekend is a fantastic reward and celebrates the work done by everyone within our team. We would particularly like to thank our existing supporters: West End Mazda, Motul Oils, Kumho Tyres, Otherside Productions, RaceRecall, and welcome new sponsor HiTech Batteries”.
